Nyaya Dhara: Pathway to Antyodaya

About us

Introduction

This organisation is structured as a multi-disciplinary legal and public service agency, driven by the ideology of “Antyodaya” — which literally means the upliftment of the last person. It is a powerful socio-economic concept that mandates that all resources and development efforts must first be directed toward the most marginalised, vulnerable, and disadvantaged individual in society.

For the Foundation, embracing Antyodaya is not just a philosophy; it is the core objective of its work. It ensures that programmes are not measured by the success of the most visible recipients, but by tangible improvements in the lives of the poorest people, enabling the organisation to become a true instrument of social and legal justice and empowerment at the grassroots level.

Antyodaya is our guiding idea — it is not connected to any government scheme, and membership brings no government benefit or post.

Combined effort

Partnering with established legal aid institutions and conducting targeted outreach programmes, the Foundation will work to bring legal awareness, support in reaching legal aid, mediation and conciliation to marginalised communities facing difficulties with government departments.

Our objects

As stated in the Foundation’s Memorandum of Association (MOA).

  1. To promote legal awareness, access to justice, legal literacy, and provide or facilitate legal aid and rights-based support for the benefit of society, including protection of rights of citizens, women, children, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and marginalized sections.
  2. To promote mediation, conciliation, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms and facilitate peaceful settlement of disputes through awareness, training, and establishment or support of mediation and counselling platforms.
  3. To undertake public service and community development activities for upliftment of economically weaker sections and vulnerable groups in line with Antyodaya and inclusive development.
  4. To promote social welfare, education, skill development, vocational training, entrepreneurship, and livelihood enhancement including support for employment and self-employment opportunities.
  5. To promote public health, sanitation, hygiene, and overall social well-being through awareness programmes and preventive health initiatives.
  6. To promote environmental protection, sustainability, and ecological awareness including activities relating to cleanliness, waste management, and conservation of natural resources.
  7. To support and facilitate non-profit, welfare-based rural and urban development initiatives including community infrastructure, public welfare projects, and social audit and awareness activities without engaging in profit-driven contracting.
  8. To promote animal welfare including support for gaushalas, cattle protection, and awareness regarding ethical treatment of animals.
