What is Antyodaya?

“Antyodaya” literally means the upliftment of the last person. It holds that all resources and development efforts must first be directed toward the most marginalised, vulnerable and disadvantaged individual in society.

Our programmes are measured not by the success of the most visible recipients, but by tangible improvements in the lives of the poorest people.

Antyodaya is our guiding idea — it is not connected to any government scheme, and membership brings no government benefit or post.

The initiation of a structured and systematic journey dedicated to achieving the comprehensive upliftment and social and legal justice for the poorest and most marginalised people in society.

Our streams of work

“Dhara” means a stream — and a section of law. Our work flows in six streams.

  1. Dhara 1

    Legal awareness & aid

Plain-language knowledge of rights and laws; helping people in need reach free legal aid through legal services authorities — especially women, children, senior citizens and persons with disabilities.

  2. Dhara 2

    Mediation & conciliation

Peaceful settlement of disputes — awareness and training in mediation, conciliation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR), and support for counselling platforms.

  3. Dhara 3

    Antyodaya & public service

Public service and community development for economically weaker and vulnerable groups; guidance for people facing difficulties with government departments.

  4. Dhara 4

    Education, skills & livelihood

Education, skill development, vocational training and entrepreneurship — to widen employment and self-employment.

  5. Dhara 5

    Health, environment & animal welfare

Health and sanitation awareness, environmental protection, waste management, and support for gaushalas and animal welfare.

  6. Dhara 6

    Constitutional values & good governance

Awareness of constitutional values, fundamental duties, social harmony and transparency; social audit and citizen participation.
